East Hanover Soccer Club Recreation
Coaching Process and Procedures
Any person assisting in a East Hanover Soccer Club program must be certified in town. This includes, but is not limited to: head coach, assistant coach, trainer, helper, or any other position that would require contact with a child. If interested in coaching it is important to start the process prior to the scheduled season to make sure you are completely certified before any meeting or practices occur.
New Recreation Coaches:
Coaches Application-
All paperwork must be submitted to the East Hanover Recreation Department ([email protected])
The information for background fingerprinting and also Rutgers Clinic will be emailed to them once the application is received.
Rutgers Coaches Certification Class
A one-time only requirement
Everyone, including minors, are required to take this class
If a returning coach, confirm with the recreation department they have it on file ([email protected])
Concussion (free on-line Heads-Up-Concussion course)
Anyone taking this free course on-line must print-out/digitally save the certificate.
They cannot go back and get this.
Background Check: - Any person 18 years of age and older must be fingerprinted and cleared by the State before assisting
This must be renewed every 3 years.

Safe Sport Training
Training Cycle
Year One: SafeSport Core Training (1.5-2 hrs)
Year Two: SafeSport Core Refresher 1 (15-20 mins)
Year Three: SafeSport Core Refresher 2 (15-20 mins)
Year Four: SafeSport Core Refresher 3 (15-20 mins)
Year Five: SafeSport Core Training (cycle repeats)
